About Nicole

My work is rooted in a simple belief: compassion begins within each of us and ripples outward, transforming our lives, our relationships, our communities, and the places where we work.
Much of my focus is on the workplace, where so many of us spend our days. When organisations genuinely care for their people, everyone wins. I don’t mean care as a slogan, a checkbox, or a wellness perk, but embodied care that shows up in how leaders consistently listen, make decisions, and respond to challenges. That kind of care is what builds the trust and psychological safety people need to speak up, share ideas, and admit mistakes. It’s the sweet spot where innovation begins and takes off, and where teams and organisations do their best work.
I partner with leaders to create those workplaces, and I coach individuals to strengthen the compassion already within them so they can navigate complex systems and thrive, both personally and professionally.
Over 15 years, I’ve worked across IT, higher education, government, and the private sector in roles spanning strategic leadership, research, writing, and teaching. Along the way, I developed expertise in change management, organisational strategy, communications management, and digital research support.
Everything I do is grounded in research, lived experience, and contemplative practice. My master’s capstone study, which examined how compassionate leadership relates to communication, psychological safety, and employee engagement, received the Top Student Paper Award at the 28th International Public Relations Research Conference in 2025. I completed the Applied Compassion Training through Stanford University’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) in 2023 and, in 2025, the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP), where I had the privilege of studying with teachers including Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, Jean Leonard, and Cynthia Wilcox.
I hold a Master of Communications Management (MCM) from McMaster University and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, as well as a Certificate in Human Resource Management and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto. I’m also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Through Everything Compassion, I offer consulting, advisory services, training programs, and one-on-one coaching that bring compassion into leadership, strategy, policy, and the adoption of AI and emerging technologies, so that people, communities, and the broader web of life can flourish.
Outside of work, I volunteer in bereavement support with Hospice Toronto and with Toronto’s Out of the Cold program. I’m a Vipassana practitioner, an avid birder, and a nature lover, and I find some of my deepest inspiration in our natural world.
